PRESS RELEASE · URBAN CULTURE · LAUNCH
Madrid, October 2026

The crowd doesn't just shout anymore. Now it decides.

Roundr, an app born in the urban scene, puts the outcome of freestyle, breaking, beatbox, scratch and skate battles in the hands of the audience. Scan a QR code, vote live, crown the champion.

Two competitors in the middle of the circle. The beat drops. The comeback lands clean and the whole place erupts. Until now, that roar was the only way a crowd could say who won. With Roundr (roundr.online), the roar becomes a vote: the audience scans a QR code, picks who takes the round on their phone, and the score flips on the big screen in real time.

There's nothing to download and no account needed to vote, and voting is always free. For organizers, setting up a tournament takes minutes: add the competitors and the bracket builds itself.

The memory the scene never had

Roundr comes from something anyone who has stepped into a cypher or a local jam knows well: huge energy that disappears the moment the battle ends. No clear bracket, no record of who beat whom, and no real way for the crowd to decide.

That's why every competitor on Roundr gets an @tag: their own profile, where their battles, their wins and their aura live. Aura is the score they earn from the crowd's vote. Battles run by verified organizers feed a ranking that remembers who runs each discipline. In the team's words, it's "the Strava of battles": what happens in the circle leaves a mark.

> "Before we built an app, we ran battles. We saw the same thing at every one: people wanted to decide and had no way to do it. Roundr gives the crowd what was always theirs. You don't watch the battle. You crown it."
> — Andrés Segnini Capriles, founder of Roundr

One mechanic for the whole battle culture

Bracket, rounds and a vote. That's how Roundr covers freestyle rap battles, breaking and street dance, beatbox, scratch and DJ battles, and skate formats like best trick and jams. And it arrives at a moment of unprecedented visibility for these disciplines: breaking made its Olympic debut at Paris 2024, skateboarding is on the programme for Los Angeles 2028, and freestyle leagues fill arenas.

From the park to the main stage

Roundr doesn't compete with the judges. It adds one more voice. In street battles, the crowd decides. In judged competitions, Roundr adds a crowd award, such as a crowd favourite in a breaking final or the best trick voted live at a skate, BMX or scooter contest. The official result stays the same, and the audience goes from watching to taking part for the whole event.

For festivals, agencies and brands there's a tailored Corporate plan:
- several battles and stages at once;
- projector mode for the venue screens;
- the event's brand and its sponsors on the competition page;
- crowd participation analytics;
- support from the Roundr team on event day.

> "Every vote is a fan who stops being a spectator. For an organizer, that means a crowd that's involved from start to finish, and a community that keeps following its competitors after the lights go out."
> — Andrés Segnini Capriles, founder of Roundr

About Roundr
Roundr is the platform for battle culture: a place to run tournaments where the crowd decides, live, and where every competitor builds a name one battle at a time. Born in the urban scene, it works the same in a public square as at a major festival. Its motto sums it up: Set the battle. The crowd decides.
